Does it make any difference?

 

People coming and going at the market – the Bible stall gave away 15 Bibles and 20 Bible plaques plus Gospel booklets.

But why bother?

1.     For the honour of Jesus Christ our Saviour and Lord.

2.     In mercy upon the multitudes that live in spiritual darkness.

3.     To represent, as ambassadors, God revealed in Jesus Christ.

4.     In fulfillment of the Masters word – to be salt and light.

5.     By light resisting the forces of evil.

6.     As encouragement to the many believers from many countries.

 

Yes it worth it all – time , expense, weariness, stress – we as unprofitable servants count it a privilege to serve the LORD thus.

The success factor is recorded  by the accountant in heaven.

Our dominant Bible verse remains:

God so loved the world that He gave His only Son,

so that everyone who believes in Him, 

will not perish 

but have everlasting life.

John 3.16

Repent

 

The most forgotten word in public preaching – Repentance

 

“Repentance unto life is a saving grace, whereby a sinner, out of a true sense of sin, and apprehension of the mercy of God in Christ, does , with grief and hatred of sin, turn from it to God, with full purpose of and endeavour after, new obedience.”   WSC

 

Or in short ‘ Turn to God from idols to serve the living and true God’

 ( 1 Thessalonians 1 )

 

Or  as written in the book ‘The way of repentance’

‘Repentance is the life-saving doctrine to our sleepy and self indulgent age. It is the threshold to a holy God. It is the first word of the Gospel. The sorrow of repentance leads to joy, peace and purpose. It cleans the slate  of a burdened soul’

 

More than regret.

    True repentance opens the way to partake of the abundant grace of God.
