A
most beautiful Bible verse:
“That Christ may dwell
in your hearts by faith” Ephesians 3:17
Considering
the distant, derelict and demonised condition of the Gentiles (as described in
chapter 2), the idea of intimacy with God seems impossible.
But the grace of God moved by the love of
God has effected redemption by Christ’s blood. This has achieved forgiveness,
salvation and cleansing so great that the Gentile believer is accepted, reborn
and brought into a relationship with God that is sublime.
By the operation of the Holy Spirit, the
praise of these redeemed ones is described (chapter 2) as a temple of praise.
But
the wonder of it all goes so much deeper in Ephesians 3:
“ When I think of the wisdom and scope of
God’s plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father , the creator of everything
in heaven and on earth. I pray that from His glorious unlimited resources He
will give you mighty inner strength through His Holy Spirit.
And
I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in
Him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvellous love. And
may you have power to understand , as all God’s people should, how wide , how
long, how high, how deep His love really is……NLT(look it up for yourself)
This
describes the extreme beauty of belonging to God and His overflowing desire for
us to know him personally. If this is
dry words to you, please seek the Lord with all your heart and you will find
Him.
